Conrad and Janie in Riner, VA

It was a beautiful drive from West Virginia back into Virginia.  We had to miss the Mennonite auction in the morning where we were originally going to hook up with Conrad and Janie, but we met up at their house instead.  We had an absolutely delightful time with these folks.  We found out that they were preparing for a trip to Iraq this coming week to visit Kaitlyn and Nathan, so they didn't have much on their minds.  :)

After a tour of the Virginia Tech campus, we enjoyed a great meal that included some food from the Mennonite auction and just had an encouraging time around the table.  Then, Conrad accommodated our request to see pictures from their last trip to Iraq.  For some reason, it still amazes me that they can just fly over there and travel around.

On Sunday morning, we attended their church with them and enjoyed yet another meal with them as the church had a potluck dinner after the service.  Conrad and Janie led the worship and Conrad directed much of the service.  We were honored to be able to join them for all of this.

I must tell a little story on Conrad.  Last week, their freezer broke, so they had to scramble to buy another one and transfer all the frozen food.  In the mean time, they put the broken freezer on the back porch.  I guess Conrad just looked at the freezer a little later and he got a little creative.  What happens when you put hot water in an old freezer?
