Fun in Ashville/Swanannoa

The stop in the Ashville area to see my cousin Mary Anna and her husband, Andrew, was relaxing and totally amazing.

In the first selfie, Andrew and Mary Anna took us to Mount Mitchell, which is the highest point east of the Mississippi.  It was a little foggy at the top, but we had spectacular views of the valleys, lakes, and mountains of the Appalachians.   The best part of that little trip was spending time in the car with Andrew and Mary Anna.  During the day, while Andrew was working, we found a pottery shop, a chocolate shop, and an Appalachian craft shop in Ashville.  More fun and fellowship...as well as a few Christmas gifts.

We spent several meals together, and Mary Anna is an excellent cook.  Times around the table were spent catching up with family, looking at pictures, and talking a little politics.  Andrew often redirected our discussions to topics with more eternal value and the fellowship was rich.

On our way out, we stopped by to see where Andrew works at the Ashville Christian Academy.  When we arrived, Andrew was playing piano for a group of elementary students.  It must be nice for ACA to have a fund raising executive that plays piano too.  :)

We'll be seeing Mary Anna's sister Grace in a couple of days.
